Our Vision.

 

AAP Consulting is based in NSW and was founded in 2016 by our director and lead consultant, Angela Peace. It was born out of a desire to identify and understand how change or potential change can impact people. 

Social impact assessment is an integral part of our business. Change, such as new roads, renewable energy farms or mountain bike trails, for example, can affect people in many ways, both positively and negatively. We aim to identify and understand social impacts and help inform responses that seek to avoid, mitigate or reduce negative impacts and enhance the positive.

Involving communities in project development from an early stage has significant benefits to both the client and the community. These include reducing project risks, increasing community trust and confidence, developing meaningful relationships and improving organisation reputation. It also helps inform planning and design during the early stages of project development to avoid or mitigate social impacts before construction.

We understand local, state and federal approval processes for developments. We have a proven track record of working directly with clients or working in multi-disciplinary integrated teams across a wide range of industries.

Our Team.

  • Angela Peace

    Angela is a Social Impact and Community Engagement Specialist and has a wealth of experience in carrying out social impact assessments across various sectors, inclusive of participatory engagement practices.

    Angela is based in Newcastle, NSW and has worked extensively throughout both metro and regional NSW, developing an informed understanding of the differing needs of metro and regional based communities.

    She has managed the research activities, authored several reports for State Significant Projects in NSW, and has a thorough understanding of national and international guidelines.


    Angela is also an experienced mediator with the ability to resolve disputes and manage relationships between key stakeholders with differing points of view and also uses her knowledge in SIA to carry out independent peer reviews for several clients.

  • Cameron Peace

    Cameron is an experienced Civil Engineer with a background in road design. He has successfully managed several large infrastructure projects and brings to AAP Consulting a wealth of knowledge in the development, delivery and auditing of major projects.

    He has a passion for lessons learned and continual improvement – and enjoys working with communities and individuals to refine and mitigate project impacts to optimise project delivery outcomes.

    Cameron is responsible for overseeing the company's management and the provision of technical support and advice in assessing the potential impact of change on people.

    He has worked on many infrastructure projects across NSW, including the Hunter Expressway, Pacific Highway Upgrade, Princes Highway Gerringong Upgrade and M1 Kariong to Somersby. Through this experience, he has honed his project and contract management skills, ensuring key performance indicators and important project milestones are met.
